Stavrohori (which means village of the cross) has a beautiful village square and many fine examples of typical Cretan architecture.

The narrow streets and fountains provide a wonderful backdrop to views all the way down to the sea.

One of the friendliest and most traditional villages in the region. It used to be the most important village in the region with the main post office, police station etc. based here. These have now moved down to Koutsouras.

The villagers are very proud of their village and its past and are quite prepared to pass the time of day with you.
